Unable to watch 2nd round last night due to some prior family scheduling out of my control. Our most promising wrestler for the year was injured and unable to go past 2 rounds, an amazing accomplishment with one arm. Not fair to say Mekhi would have won it again but I guarantee he would have collected more team points if healthy. Our 125 is still in contention for 3rd as a redshirt freshman, I mean come on, this class is all about 2nd because no one is going to beat Lee. If Sam gets third as a freshman, I will be ecstatic. Korbin, just a few months ago we were hoping he would be healthy enough to compete against anyone, now he also has a shot at 3rd. This is his first AA by the way, so yes he has been developed here at VT. Who thought our 125 and 133 would be top 4 in the nation, during pre season,no one. Sure Bolen has been a little disappointing but he has an opportunity to finish higher than ZZ did as a sr, while this is Hunter's first tournament. Unfortunately, wrestling is being controlled by 2 juggernauts in Penn St and Iowa. Will we ever cross that threshold and be in that company, maybe not, but I think we have become a solid top 10 program that still has a lot of room for growth. I am excited about the opportunities that this team has in the next few years. I'm all aboard. Go Hokies.
